Photos will be taken throughout the day which may be included in the Review on our Website, the Newsletter or in publicity materials. If you do not wish your photo to be used, please make this known to the guy with the camera!
Following on from a successful full day’s Hands-On meeting in August, the November meeting will also be a full day for members and visitors to have the opportunity to have one-to-one tuition from an experienced member. Members are welcome to come for the whole day or just part of the day.
One-to-one Sessions
Here are some example sessions available:
- A small bowl
- A natural-edge vase
- Use of the bowl gouge
- Christmas decorations including spinning tops
There will be three lathes in use. Several members have already reserved a slot for a training session, but there will still be opportunities to try something out even if you haven’t booked a slot. Contact John to book a slot in advance.
Help with Using Technology
In addition to the above, I will be available for part of the day to advise on technology with the aim of helping members to make use of the Club’s Website and Facebook page. I would be happy to help with:
- Using the club website
- Using the club Facebook page
- Purchasing a smartphone, tablet or laptop (let me know your budget)
- Setting up Facebook or the Website for easy access on a phone, tablet or laptop that you already own (bring the device to the meeting)
As usual, tea and coffee will be available all day, but remember to bring a packed lunch.
