Woodturning Suppliers
The following suppliers sell woodturning tools, blanks and related workshop machinery. Those with significant ranges are in bold.-
- Axminster Tool Centre – Major online retailer with several stores. Manufacturer of British made tools including woodturning chucks, jaws and accessories. Importer of own brand machinery including lathes. Wide range of wood turning products. Quality but pricey. Excellent customer service.
- Charnwood – Large range of own branded products: in particular, a budget range of chucks and jaws some of which are compatible with the Record Power and Sorby chucks. Reseller of Chestnut products and woodturning blanks.
- Chestnut Products – Manufacturer and retailer of wood turning finishes: stains, waxes, and related products. Chestnut products are available at many other retailers.
- Dalmann – Retailer and major importer of exotic hardwoods. Suppliers most other retailers. Incorporates Stiles and Bates which ceased trading. They publish a useful catalogue of wood turning blanks.
- Exotic Hardwoods – Native and exotic hardwoods
- G&S Specialist Timber
- Hampshire Sheen – Shop run by turner Martin Sabin-Smith, mainly woodturning stains finishes.
- Hope Woodturning – Run by turner Simon Hope. Manufacturer of own brand of woodturning tools and jigs. Retailer of Stratos and Vicmarc lathes. Excellent reputation.
